You're reading: Poll: Most Ukrainians do not believe in fair parliamentary election

The majority of Ukrainians do not believe there will be a fair election for the Verkhovna Rada this fall, but expect a change for the better after the vote, Research and Branding Group said.

It polled 2,078 people in 24 regions of Ukraine and Crimea on March 22 – April 1, 2012.

Sixty-six percent of the respondents said that the election would not be fair, and only 18% disagreed. Sixteen percent found it difficult to tell.

Forty percent expect positive changes after the election, 34% do not predict any change, and 20% think things may change for the worse.

The election is scheduled for October 28, 2012.
