The Accounting Chamber of Ukraine is planning to inspect the activity of the secretariat of the Verkhovna Rada commissioner for human rights, the ombudsman's press service informed on Thursday.

According to Article 12 of the law of Ukraine on the Ukrainian parliament commissioner for human rights, "funding for the activity of the commissioner is allocated from the national budget of Ukraine and is annually stipulated by a separate item. The commissioner estimates his or her expenditures, submits the budget estimate to the Verkhovna Rada for approval, and complies with it," reads the statement of the press service.

The Accounting Chamber of Ukraine executes control over implementation of budget estimates by state agencies and organizations, and controls over use of state funds by them. During checks and audits on the grounds of documented confirmation of their results, authenticity of accounting and financial reports, the Accounting Chamber determines timeliness and sufficiency of mutual settlements made by the agency subjected to inspection.

A relevant report will be drawn up on the basis of conclusions made after the checks and audits.
