Ukraine and NATO did not hold formal consultations on the development of the anti-missile defense of the alliance, NATO's Assistant Secretary General for Political Affairs and Security Policy Dirk Brengelmann has reported.
"We have not held formal consultations: they should be agreed with all the members of the alliance. It is too early to think whether Ukraine can cooperate with NATO in the sphere of anti-missile defense," he said in an interview with the Dzerkalo Tyzhnia Ukraine weekly published on Saturday.
According to Brengelmann, the alliance recognizes that Ukraine is among the countries that have an understandable interest in the future development of the NATO anti-missile defense.
"I think that your country is now working on the policy in the issue," he said.
