Ukraine has a chance to get closer to Europe, German Ambassador to Ukraine Hans-Jurgen Heimsoeth considers.
"Speaking about the European Union, we have a chance to bring Ukraine closer to ourselves. I hope the time will come and we will sign an Association Agreement," he told reporters in Kyiv on Saturday.
The ambassador noted that the answer to the question when the agreement will be signed could be found in Kyiv.
Head of the EU Delegation to Ukraine Jose Manuel Pinto Teixeira, in turn, said the main obstacles to Ukraine’s European integration are selective application of justice and a poor progress on the way of reforms.
"There is no decision on these issues. It is very difficult to move forward. This also concerns the signing of the Association Agreement," he said.
