You're reading: Foreign Ministry: Bus with Ukrainians overturns in Romania, one killed, 12 injured

A passenger bus with 26 Ukrainian citizens on board veered off the road and overturned 40 km from the city of Focsani in Romania on Monday, June 4, the information policy department of the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry has reported, referring to Ukraine's Consulate General in Suceava.

"One Ukrainian woman was killed in the accident, whereas three Ukrainians were seriously injured, and nine passengers sustained light injuries. All of the victims have been taken to a hospital in Focsani," reads the statement.

According to the consulate general, the bus was carrying Ukrainians to Ukraine from Bulgaria, where they holidayed.

Ukraine’s consul general in Suceava left for the scene to find out the causes and circumstances of the tragedy.
