Brussels, November 18 (Interfax-Ukraine) – NATO has called for the issue of granting the NATO Membership Action Plan to Ukraine not to be politicized, NATO Spokesman James Appathurai said at a briefing in Brussels on Tuesday.

He said the NATO Headquarters is aware that the issue on granting the MAP to Ukraine and Georgia is being "substantially politicized."

NATO Headquarters will on December 2-3 host a meeting of the foreign ministers of the alliance member states, at which the first estimation of Ukrainian progress towards receiving the MAP would be given.

Appathurai mentioned, that if the result of the session were positive, it means Ukraine and NATO would receive its NATO membership in the near future.

If the response us negative, than Ukraine and Georgia would never receive NATO membership.

Appathurai again said that at present, it is too early to forecast what the result of the December session will be.
