Majority of Ukrainians already affected by financial slowdown, survey shows
November 19, 2008 at 14:19 | Interfax-UkraineThe institute carried out the second stage of a survey November 5 through November 10. The data obtained demonstrated changes in consumption patterns of Ukrainians compared to October 2008, when the first stage of the study was completed. The second stage was conducted via phone interviews with 1,000 respondents from all Ukrainian regional centers, as well as in the cities of Kyiv and Sevastopol. The poll's margin of error is 3.4 percent.
According to the survey, 23.8 percentof those polled have started being more economical about their expenditures, while 9.6 percentof Ukrainians faced a delay in the payment of their wages and even a fall in them.
The number of those who believe they are well off fell from 75.2 percentin October to 68.2 percentin November, while the number of those who said they make ends meet rose from 17.5 percentin October to 24.6% in November
