Sociological Consortium poll: 60.5 percent against joining NATO

60.5 percent of people polled by the Sociological Consortium would vote at a referendum against Ukraine's accession to NATO.

This follows from a report on the poll outcome. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs commissioned the opinion poll.

The respondents were if they supported Ukraine's accession to NATO if a referendum on this issue was conducted at the nearest weekends.

Meanwhile, 29.5 percentof the pollees would vote for NATO membership. 10% of the polled found it difficult to answer the question.

The poll was conducted among 2,000 respondents above 18 November 13 through 24, statistical sampling error does not exceed 2.2 percent.

As Ukrainian News reported, 57.6 percentof people polled by the FOM-Ukraine public opinion foundation would vote at a referendum against Ukraine's accession to NATO.

The poll was conducted among 2,000 respondents above 18 September 12 through 26, statistical sampling error not exceeding 2.2 percent.

The Sociological Consortium was founded specially to conduct research works. The members of the Sociological Consortium are heads of scientific-research and expert centers from different regions of Ukraine.

It embraces the Institute Of Transformation Of Society (the project manager), and Public Opinion Foundation Ukraine (FOM Ukraine).
