Kyiv, Dec. 4 (Interfax-Ukraine) - Ukrainian President Victor Yushchenko and Tajik Emomali Rahmon said they are satisfied with the development of relations between their states at a joint press conference in Kyiv on Thursday.

"We see our relations with the Republic of Tajikistan as relations of special importance," Yushchenko said, quoting a statement signed by the two presidents.

According to Yushchenko, cooperation is becoming more dynamic with each year, and cooperation in the farming sector is actively developing.

Ukrainian president said that a working delegation headed by Ukraine's agricultural minister would go to Tajikistan soon to analyze the market.

Yuschenko also noted the need for more efficient use of Ukrainian transit potential. He said that in the near future the transport ministers of Ukraine and Tajikistan would hold a working session on forming a long-term transit policy.

According to Yushchenko, Ukraine is ready to increase the quota of places for Tajik citizens at Ukrainian educational institutions, particularly military ones.

Yuschenko also said that during the meeting an agreement on holding days of Tajik culture in Ukraine in 2009 was signed.

Rahmon noted Ukrainian-Tajik trade turnover was rising and is already more than $100 million.

"We were satisfied with our dialogue," Tajik president said.
