Moscow, Dec.23 (Interfax) - The Georgian aggression against South Ossetia actively involved foreign mercenaries, including militants from the Ukrainian nationalist organization UNA-UNSO (Ukrainian National Assembly - Ukrainian National Self-Defense), said Russian Prosecutor's Office Investigative Committee (POIC) chief Alexander Bastrykin.

"The inquest has gathered evidence of the participation of UNA-UNSO members on the side of the Georgian army. Moreover, Georgian prisoners of war testified that mercenaries from the United States, the Czech Republic and Turkey were also involved in combat operations," Bastrykin told a press conference in Moscow on Tuesday.

In particular, this is shown by the UNA-UNSO military gear, literature and other propaganda materials of this organization, found in a Georgian enclave in South Ossetia, he said.

"We have found an order by the Georgian enclave commander to provide a car for UNA-UNSO militant squad commander Kucherenko," the POIC chief said.
