The Naftohaz Ukrainy national oil and gas company has paid in full to the RosUkrEnergo Company for natural gas imported to Ukraine in November and December.

Ukrainian News learned this from a statement by the Ukrainian presidential press service.

"Payments have been made not only for November [imports], but also advance payment has been made for December 2008," the statement reads.

The presidential press service notes that the Naftohaz Ukrainy national oil and gas company has removed all obstacles on the way to an agreement with Russia's Gazprom on gas supplies to Ukraine in 2009.

As Ukrainian News earlier reported, the Cabinet of Ministers on December 29 allowed the Naftohaz Ukrainy national oil and gas company to raise up to USD 2 billion in loans from the Oschadbank state savings bank and the Ukreximbank state bank to pay for natural gas imports in November and December 2008.
