Ukrainian Energoatom's nuclear power plants (NPPs) reduced electricity output by 14.7% year-on-year to 7.581 billion kilowatt hours in Jan. 2009, the state enterprise told Interfax.

The company's NPPs met 99.4% of their electricity output plan for the period.

Khmelnytsky NPP boosted output by 96.2%, South-Ukraine NPP (including Tashlyk hydro accumulation station and Alexandrov hydro-electric power plant) - lowered output by 34.4%, Zaporizhia NNP - down by 15.9% and Rivne NPP - down by 31.9%.

Energoatom's electricity stations lowered output by 14.8% to 7.145 billion kilowatt hours.

The annual capacity factor at the company's electricity stations in Jan. 2008 came to 73.4%, down from 86.1% posted in Jan. 2007. This figure rose for Khmelnytsky NPP but decreased at South-Ukraine NPP, Rivne NPP and Zaporizhia NPP.

Energoatom operates four NPPs in Ukraine. The company operates 15 power blocks with a total capacity of 13,835 gigawatts.

The company operates the Tashlyk hydro accumulation station with a capacity of 302 megawatts. Alexander NPP was built at the lower reservoir of the complex with an installed capacity of 11.5 megawatts. Along with the Yuzhnoukrainsk NNP, this facility comprises the entire South Ukrainian power complex.
