The Cabinet of Ministers has urged the National agency for efficient use of energy resources (NERA) to study the expediency of creation of the Biofuel of Ukraine state-run concern on the basis of 12 distilleries authorized to produce the bioethanol.

This is read in the Cabinet of Ministers resolution No.159 of February 11.

In compliance with the resolution, the state-run concern can be created on the basis of Bar-based distillery, Haisyn-based distillery, Trostianets-based (all in Vinnytsia region), Zhovtnevyi distillery, Lokhvytsia-based distillery (both in Poltava region), Tkhorovskyi distillery, Trylysskyi distillery (both in Kyiv region), Naumivskyi distillery (Sumy region), Ivashkiv-based distillery (Kharkiv region), Khorostkovskyi distillery (Ternopil region), Korostyshevskyi distillery (Zhytomyr region), Kamianskyi distillery (Cherkasy region).

In compliance with the Cabinet of Ministers resolution No.1375 of December 5, 2007, all these plants have right to produce the bioethanol.

Besides, the NERA is urged to analyze the expediency of creation of another state-run concern, Renewable Energy of Ukraine.

This concern is created to finance the state programmes in the sector of renewable energy.

The agency should submit its proposals on the creation of the Renewable Energy of Ukraine concern to the government.

As Ukrainian News earlier reported, on January 29, the national agency for the issues of efficient use of energy resources has suggested that the Cabinet of Ministers study the possible creation of three state-run concerns for production of energy from the alternative and renewable energy sources.

The agency was created in compliance with the decree of the president on December 31, 2005.

The agency is the central executive body with the special status.
