Ukrainian parliament dismisses Foreign Minister Ohryzko

The Verkhovna Rada has dismissed Foreign Minister Volodymyr Ohryzko.

This decision was supported by 250 MPs out of 429 registered for voting in the parliament's session hall on Tuesday.

Ohryzko is a career diplomat, whose career started in 1978. He was appointed first deputy Ukrainian foreign minister in 2005 and foreign minister on December 17, 2007.

Volodymyr Khandohiy is currently first deputy foreign minister. Yuriy Kostenko is acting first deputy foreign minister.

The parliament announced a break following the vote on the foreign minister's dismissal.
