You're reading: Yushchenko urges Cabinet to provide Dniproavia privatization

President Viktor Yushchenko has urged the Cabinet of Ministers to take measures to hold the privatization of the state stake in Dnipropetrovsk-based Dniproavia air company.

This is disclosed in the presidential decree No.135/2009 of March 6.

In compliance with the decree, Yushchenko urged the Cabinet of Ministers to rule that during the privatization of the company, the runway of the Dnipropetrovsk international airport, technical aids of the air navigation should be given over into the property of the state.

Yushchenko also urged the government to repay the debts of the company to the creditors and invest into the preparation of the Dnipropetrovsk airport for the finals of Euro 2012.

As Ukrainian News earlier reported, President Viktor Yushchenko has called on the Cabinet of Ministers to consider the possibility of privatization of Dnipropetrovsk-based Dniproavia air company.

Dnipropetrovsk-based Dniproavia air company ended 2008 with a loss of UAH 215.019 million.

The Dniproavia open joint-stock air company was created on the basis of the Dniproavia state-run company in 1996 and unites the Defense Ministry international airport.

The company operates domestic and international flights.

It includes the Dnipropetrovsk international airport.

The company performs domestic and international flights.

100% of its shares belong to the State Property Fund.
