President Victor Yushchenko and Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko congratulated Ukrainians on the religious holiday, which continues on Monday, April 20.

In his Easter's greetings to the Ukrainian people, President Victor Yushchenko wishes Ukrainian people good, deep and wise faith in their strength and in God's protection.

"I heartily wish every one of us good, deep and wise faith in our strength and in God's protection," the presidential press service quoted Yushchenko as saying. "These days we all must think about how we live and how would we wish to live..

Yushhenko expressed confidence that the Ukrainian people will come through the current ordeals, since the Ukrainian nation is a great and strong nation. "Let us believe in ourselves. Honestly, openly and with love as a united family should," Yuschenko said.

The head of the Ukrainian state wishes Ukrainian people happiness, peace and sound health, and all Easter happiness. "We welcome sunny wonderful Easter and pray for God's blessing for each one of us for years to come. Christ is risen! Truly, He is Risen!" Yushchenko said.

Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko cited faith in Easter as the holiday giving more strength to Ukrainians for overcoming crises and passing ordeals.




"Notwithstanding difficulties and problems facing each Ukrainian today let our hearts have no room for disappointment, despair or evil intentions. Let them not be with us regardless of circumstances and fusses of life. I have faith in holy Easter to strengthen our spirit, add strength to us to successfully overcome any crises and pass ordeals," reads the letter of congratulations of the Ukrainian prime minister.

Tymoshenko further says Easter is the greatest of all holidays and the best festival of all. "While waiting for the God's blessing these days, we feel joy and inspiration, believe in eternal life and the triumph of good over evil," Tymoshenko said.


She also calls on Ukrainians to, while asking for the God's protection for their families, pray for their near and dear, forgive offenses, and multiple good in their hearts.

Tymoshenko wishes Ukrainians the rule of peace, agreement, and comfort in their families. Tymoshenko wants the blessed idea of Easter - the triumph over evil forces - to come to the everyday life of Ukrainian families and the life of the Ukrainian nation.
