President Viktor Yushchenko has appointed the National Security and Defense Council's Secretary Raisa Bohatyriova to replace Yevhen Marchuk as the chairperson of the National Security and Defense Council's interagency commission on information policy.

This is stated in the presidential decree No. 462/2009 dated June 18.

Yushchenko made the relevant changes to the presidential decree No. 63 of January 22, 2002, entitled "On the National Security and Defense Council's Interagency Commission on Information Security."

As Ukrainian News earlier reported, Marchuk was appointed as the chairperson of the commission on January 22, 2002.

Marchuk was the secretary of the National Security and Defense Council from November 10, 1999, to June 25, 2003.

The National Security and Defense Council's interagency commission on information policy is a consultative and advisory organ. Its main task is to analyze the state of national security in the area of information and possible threats to it.
