The Embassy of Greece in Ukraine is conducting an internal investigation in allegations of the improper behavior of its consul towards a Ukrainian citizen.

Ukraine's Deputy Interior Minister Kostiantyn Yeliseyev said this at a briefing in Kyiv on Wednesday.

The Ukrainian Foreign Ministry received the information concerning an incident between a Ukrainian woman and the Greek consul, he said. The woman claims that during an interview for a Greek visa, the consul behaved inappropriately, making emotional and rude remarks.

"The Ukrainian Foreign Ministry will not stand apart from this process," Yeliseyev said.

He said that during a meeting with Ukrainian diplomats, the Greek Ambassador to Ukraine promised to conduct an internal investigation in the embassy and to report its results. Besides, the Greek ambassador met on Wednesday with the woman who complained about the consul.
