Ukrainian tourist dies, four seriously injured in North Caucasus Mountains

A climber from Zaporizhia died, and eight others were injured, including four seriously, in an accident in the North Caucasus Mountains in the Kabardino-Balkaria Republic, according to a spokesman for the Russian Emergencies Ministry's main office in the republic, Kantemir Davydov.

"A group of tourists were swept away by a snow and ice avalanche while crossing between the mounts of Brno and Misess Tau at a height of around 3,700 meters. Nine people were injured as a result [of the tragedy] – one died and eight suffered injuries, including four seriously injured," he told Interfax-Yug on Wednesday.
