BYuT press service: Pysarenko withdraws his comment on Medvedev's statement
Aug 11, 2009 at 18:51 | Interfax-Ukraine"The comment was hasty, it was made before full information on the issue and context was received, which means it doesn't reflect the stance of the MP and the whole political faction he represents. Apart from that, some mass media sources gave a one-sided interpretation," the press statement says.
"In the meantime, Pysarenko supports friendly, strategic, respectful and partner relations between Ukraine and Russia," the press service said.
Earlier commenting on Medvedev's statement, Pysarenko said that the new president of Ukraine must improve relations with Russia.
"In my view, the next Ukrainian president ought to radically change our relations and return them to a friendly course. Although the step that Medvedev made signifies a level of tension in our relations [delaying the Russian ambassador to Ukraine's appointment] is in my view inappropriate. Not to send an ambassador to Ukraine in order to highlight problems in relations is probably not a [good] way to resolve the problems that exist," Pysarenko said.
