The European Parliament is currently considering the candidates to head the delegation. The European Parliament is to decide on a new chairman for the delegation to the EU-Ukraine Parliamentary Cooperation Committee will be uncovered by the end of the week.

Romania Socialist Adrian Severin, who previously chaired the EU-Ukraine delegation, has been again elected member of the European Parliament and will not return to the delegation.

The MEP won't be nominated for the committee chairman and is unlikely to become a member of the new delegation, as he has been elected vice-president of the Group of the Progressive Alliance of Socialists and Democrats in the European Parliament, Interfax-Ukraine learned at Severin's press office in Brussels on Monday.

According to the agency's information, Severin's predecessor in the post, Polish Socialist Marek Siwiec is not going to run for this post, either.

The European Parliament is currently considering the candidates to head the delegation.

The delegation to the EU-Ukraine Parliamentary Cooperation Committee will be finally formed during the European Parliament's plenary meeting scheduled for September 14-17 in Strasbourg.
