Poll: 40% of Ukrainians support presidential-parliamentary form of government in Ukraine
Sep 18, 2009 at 14:24 | Interfax-UkraineNISS Director Yuriy Ruban presented the results of the survey at a press conference in Kyiv on Friday.
A total of 2010 people were polled in all regions of Ukraine, including Crimea and Kyiv. The poll's margin of error was 2%.
According to Ruban, 40% of those polled supported a presidential-parliamentary form of government (in which voters elect the president and the government forms a parliamentary majority), 27.2% of those polled supported a presidential form of government (when the president is elected in a national poll) and only 9.8% of Ukrainians supported a parliamentary form of government (when the government forms a parliamentary majority, and the president is elected by the parliament), while 23% found it difficult to answer.
