Ukraine has applied to Croatia for temporary abolishing the visa regime for Ukrainians during winter and Christmas vacations, if possible, the press-service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine said.

Borys Zaichuk, Ukraine's Ambassador to Croatia, met with Croatia's Minister of Interior Tomislav Karamarko to hand Ukraine's proposal.

Temporary abolishing the visa regime will foster tourism promotion and encourage trade cooperation between the two countries, the statement emphasized.

As Ukrainian News earlier reported, Croatia abolished the visa regime for Ukrainian citizens between May 1 and October 30, 2009.
