Party of Regions of Ukraine leader Viktor Yanukovych and Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko have the highest ratings among all the potential presidential candidates to run in the 2010 elections, a poll conducted by the Social and Political Psychology Institute under the Ukrainian Academy of Pedagogical Sciences has found.
The poll, whose results were presented at a press conference at the Interfax-Ukraine press center on Thursday, showed that 27.17% of the respondents are ready to vote for Yanukovych, 20% for Tymoshenko, and 9.4% for Arseniy Yatseniuk if the elections were held next Sunday.
Ukrainian Party leader Petro Symonenko would garner 6%, incumbent President Viktor Yushchenko 3.7%, parliamentary chairman Volodymyr Lytvyn 3.5%, and prominent banker Sergiy Tigipko 3.1%.
