Mykola Tymchenko, a renowned Russian circus artist presented his new program with sea lions. His colleague, Lyudmyla Shevchenko, impressed the audience with her lion acts UNIAN Kyiv’s circus has started a new season featuring dozens of animals and other fun acts for kids big and small.

Kyiv’s circus on 2 Peremohy Square started a new season recently, welcoming visitors with a new program with a rather dull name: “To you, the capital on the banks of the Dnipro.” But the show itself is more imaginative. Mykola Tymchenko, a renowned Russian circus artist [1] presented his new program with sea lions. His colleague, Lyudmyla Shevchenko, impressed the audience with her lion acts [4]. Also performing in the show are bears, monkeys, horse, tigers, dogs, cats and many other animals [2,3]. The circus director said in a recent interview that some of the acts the views can see in the 2009-2010 season are unique and have never been shown in Kyiv.

Kyiv’s circus is one of the oldest non-traveling circuses in the country. It has remained open since 1960. It can fit 2,100 viewers, and the price of tickets ranges from Hr 50 to Hr 120. Admission is free for children under 5. On weekends, shows run twice a day, at 1 p.m. and 5 p.m.

Kyiv also has two dolphin shows currently running in various parts of the city. One of them, Kobzov Aqua Show is located at Spartak Stadium, 105 Frunze Street. Tickets are Hr 60-140, and shows run three times a day on weekends: at 1 p.m., 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. Nemo dolphinarium is located at Lyodovy Stadium, 9 Hlushkova. Tickets are Hr 50-90, and shows run four times a day on weekends: at noon, 3 p.m., 6 p.m. and 9 p.m.
