Tymoshenko comissioned 2 million face masks to be made in nation's prisons

Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko said that her government two days ago has comissioned 2 million face masks to be sewn by the nation's prisoners. "Soon, every family will be able to have one or two masks,"she told the parliament on Nov. 3 to hear the government's report on flu epidemic in the country.

She said the government has already supplied gauze for the purpose, enough to make 98 million masks. “It is twice as much as the population of Ukraine, as you can see,” she said.

Tymoshenko said that to date, 19, 189 people have been diagnosed with flu and 71 people died since the quarantine was introduced on Oct.30.
