Number of tourists visiting Crimea in 2009 drops by 13 percent compared last year
A total of 4.849 million people have visited Crimea over the first ten months of 2009, which is 12.9% less compared to the same period last year (5.569 million), the press service of the Resorts and Tourism Ministry of Crimea has reported.

Simferopol, November 3 (Interfax-Ukraine) – A total of 4.849 million people have visited Crimea over the first ten months of 2009, which is 12.9% less compared to the same period last year (5.569 million), the press service of the Resorts and Tourism Ministry of Crimea has reported.

A total of 958, 500 people spent their holidays in Crimean resorts and tourist establishments, which is 17.3% down against last year (1.159 million people in 2008).

A total of 190 sanatoriums and tourist institutions were operating in Crimea as of October 30 (183 in 2008), and they were 36.8% full (41.2% in 2008).
