Ukraine receives another 200,000 packs of Tamiflu
November 04 at 19:58 | Interfax-UkraineThe plane carrying 200, 000 packs of the medication arrived from Switzerland at Lviv airport, an Interfax-Ukraine correspondent reported.
Besides, the governmental plane, which brought Ukrainian Premier Yulia Tymoshenko to Lviv region, also carried the necessary medical equipment to be installed in intensive care units at hospitals in Lviv, Ivano-Frankivsk and Ternopil regions.
"In order not to waste time, we have brought today on the governmental aircraft artificial lung ventilation devices and artificial kidneys for Ivano-Frankivsk, Ternopil and Lviv regions," she said.
According to the premier, each region will get six artificial lung ventilation devices and an artificial kidney apparatus.
Besides, Tymoshenko has brought fiberotic bronchoscopes and other medical equipment.
"The second batch of Tamiflu produced by Switzerland's La Roche has arrived today. As you see, it is being unloaded at Lviv airport, and now I am holding an order for all the regions of Ukraine to distribute 200, 000 packs, which will be delivered all over the country by Ukrpochta's special cars, and all the regions of Ukraine will receive this important medication today or tomorrow," Tymoshenko said.
The premier stressed that the medicine will go directly to hospitals, and not to the drugstores and drugstore chains.
As reported, the first batch of 300, 000 packs of the anti-viral drug Tamiflu arrived in Kyiv on the night of November 2. Tymoshenko said that the medication was bought at a special price of UAH 67 per pack of Tamiflu. She also said that the country has ordered another 2 batches of the drug.
