Kyiv has sent humanitarian aid to Ivano-Frankivsk region at the order of Kyiv Mayor Leonid Chernovetsky, the press service of Kyiv City State Administration reported on Thursday.

"This aid is not so significant for Kyiv, but it is rather significant for Ivano-Frankivsk region, which is suffering most from the flu epidemic. Moreover, I asked the mayors of all twin cities of Kyiv to provide humanitarian aid in order to fight the disease more effectively. It's always easier to tackle any difficulties together," Chernovetsky said.

The humanitarian aid sent to Ivano-Frankivsk region includes two tonnes of citrus fruits and half a tonne of medications for regional hospitals.

The mayor also thanked Kyiv educational employees for helping produce 50, 000 facemasks for doctors.
