Ukraine's parliament adopts law on border controls

The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine has adopted a law on border control.

Under this law, the legal basis of border controls, the procedure for implementing these controls, as well as conditions for crossing the state border of Ukraine were stipulated.

The law defines a number of terms, such as cargo, luggage, visas, crew, assessment of risks, passport document, carriers, document checking, subdivisions of the state border guard and others.

According to the law, the border control is the state control carried out by the State Border Service of Ukraine that includes the system of actions and measures aimed at establishment of legal basis for crossing the state border by people and vehicles, and cargo transposition over the border.
