Ukrainian First vice premier Oleksandr Turchynov has said that the government's vacant ministerial posts could be filled only after presidential elections.

"I don’t think that the situation [in the Verkhovna Rada] will improve before the presidential elections. They will only play political games, and I realistically assess the situation – we can update the Cabinet of Ministers only after presidential elections are held," he told the Fifth TV Channel on Nov. 15.

Turchynov said that MPs could appoint ministers on the basis of a "broad coalition."

In his opinion, the results of presidential elections won’t be challenged in court.

"The victory of [Prime Minister Yulia] Tymoshenko will be so comfortable that her opponents will have no desire to challenge the results [of the elections]," Turchynov said.
