Health Ministry confirms 356 deaths caused by influenza and ARVI
Nov 20, 2009 at 10:24 | Ukrainian NewsSince Oct. 29,ninety twodeaths recorded in Lviv region; 40 in Ivano-Frankivsk region; 25 in Chernivtsi region; 22 in Ternopil region; 20 in Khmelnytsky region; 19 in Donetsk region; 18 in the city of Kyiv; 16 in Kyiv region; 15 in Chernihiv region; 14 in Volyn region; and 10 in Rivne region.
Nine people died in Zakarpattia region; eight in Poltava region; seven in Vinnytsia region; six in Kharkiv region; six in Sumy region; six in Cherkasy region; four in Dnipropetrovsk region; four in Zhytomyr region; four in Kherson region; three in Zaporizhia region; and three in Kirovohrad region.
One person died of influenza and acute respiratory viral infections in Crimea; one in the city of Sevastopol; one in Mykolaiv region; one in Odesa region; and one in Luhansk region.
For the last 24 hours twelve people have died.
In total, 1,540,514 people have contracted influenza and other acute respiratory viral infections since Oct. 29; including 38,169 cases for the last 24 hours.
Since the beginning of the epidemic, 88,744 people taken to hospitals, out of whom 58,143 already discharged.
As it was earlier reported, the health ministry confirmed 344 people died of influenza and acute respiratory viral infections in 23 regions, the cities of Kyiv and Sevastopol, and in Crimea as of Nov. 18.
