Yalta, November 20 (Interfax) - Russia and Ukraine will draft a memorandum on cooperation in the shipbuilding sector and an agreement to resume the serial production of Antonov An-124 Ruslan heavy transport airplanes.

"The countries noted considerable possibilities for further promoting cooperation in the shipbuilding industry, as well as the need to intensify it," according to a protocol signed by the Russian and Ukrainian prime ministers after a session of the bilateral committee for business cooperation.

The document orders the Ukrainian Industrial Policy Ministry and the Russian Industry and Trade Ministry to draw up a draft governmental memorandum on cooperation in the shipbuilding sector.

Russian and Ukrainian officials will also have to prepare a draft governmental agreement outlining measures of state support needed to restart the serial production of An-124 planes.

"The countries confirm that the integration of [Russia's] United Aircraft Corporation and [Ukraine's] Antonov company is a priority among efforts aimed at raising the level of bilateral cooperation in the aircraft manufacturing sector and ensuring the effective implementation of joint aviation programs," the protocol says.
