St. Pe – Regions Party leader Viktor Yanukovych has ruled out the possible postponement of presidential elections in Ukraine due to the epidemic of swine flu.

"Don't listen to any fables," he said, while commenting on reports in the media that the elections in Ukraine could be postponed.

Yanukovych is participating as a guest in the 11th congress of the United Russia party in St. Petersburg on Saturday.

He expressed regret that the country had lost at least five years due to the "orange period" (five years since the Orange Revolution was held on Independence Square in Kyiv).

Speaking about energy resources and Ukraine's switch to global prices, Yanukovych said that "it's not absolutely convenient to us."
