Kryvi Kolina (Cherkasy region)– Ukrainian President Victor Yushchenko has said that Ukraine's independence and sovereignty are currently more jeopardized than five to ten years ago.

"The fate of our independence and sovereignty could currently be at greater risk than five to ten years ago," he said at a meeting with residents of Cherkasy region on Saturday.

Yushchenko said that the only way of retaining independence and sovereignty is to retain democracy.
