Health Ministry confirms 374 deaths caused by influenza and acute respiratory viral infections
Nov 22, 2009 at 14:55 | Ukrainian NewsSince October 29, 94 deaths recorded in Lviv region; 41 in Ivano-Frankivsk region; 25 in Chernivtsi region; 22 in Ternopil region; 22 in the city of Kyiv; 21 in Khmelnytskyi region; 19 in Donetsk region; 17 in Kyiv region; 16 in Chernihiv region; 15 in Volyn region; 10 in Rivne region; and 10 in Zakarpattia region.
Nine people died in Poltava region; eight in Vinnytsia region; seven in Kharkiv region; six in Sumy region; six in Cherkasy region; six in Dnipropetrovsk region; four in Zhytomyr region; four in Kherson region; four in Kirovohrad region; and three in Zaporizhia region.
One person died of influenza and acute respiratory viral infections in Crimea; one in the city of Sevastopol; one in Mykolaiv region; one in Odesa region; and one in Luhansk region.
For the last 24 hours eleven people have died.
In total, 1,599,103 people have contracted influenza and other acute respiratory viral infections since October 29; including 22,900 cases for the last 24 hours.
Since the beginning of the epidemic, 93,866 people taken to hospitals, of whom 66,091 already discharged.
As Ukrainian News earlier reported, the health ministry confirmed 362 people died of influenza and acute respiratory viral infections in 23 regions, the cities of Kyiv and Sevastopol, and in Crimea as of November 20.
