Pryluky (Chernihiv region), November 24 (Interfax-Ukraine) - Ukrainian President Victor Yushchenko has said that he will not sign a law allocating Hr 1 billion to fight the flu epidemic even if the Verkhovna Rada overrides a presidential veto of this law.

"The issue does not concern that one billion hryvnias. It concerns the fact that the parliament, if it supports this decision, and the prime minister are unfairly conducting economic policies," he said at a press conference in Pryluky, Chernihiv region, on Nov. 24.

"The issue is not about Hr 1 billion, the issue concerns the fact that the National Bank [of Ukraine] does not have these funds," Yuschenko said.

"I’d like the prime minister to be held responsible for this problem, as a person who prints money in the state without any need to do so," he said.
