The Verkhovna Rada has failed to override the president's veto on a law about the provision of UAH 1 billion for fighting the flu outbreak in Ukraine.
A total of 231 out of 316 MPs registered for voting in the session hall voted to override the veto.
In particular, the proposal was supported by 152 members of the Bloc of Yulia Tymoshenko faction, 32 members of the Our Ukraine-People’s Self-Defense bloc, 27 MPs of the Communist Party faction and 19 from the Bloc of Lytvyn. Opposition Regions Party faction MPs abstained.
