Ukraine to sell three million carbon emission rights to Spain

As reported, in January-March 2009, the Ukrainian government already ordered the National Environmental Investment Agency to conclude the first similar deals and sell 50 million AAU to the Japanese New Energy and Industrial Technologies Development Organization (NEDO) and 14 million AAU to other Japanese companies.
In May 2009, the agency was tasked to sign contracts on the sale of another 100 million AAU to Swiss-based Dighton Carbon SA and 50 million AAU to New Zealand-based Tawhaki International LP.
The World Bank earlier estimated the cost of AAU in possible deals with Ukraine at between EUR 1 and EUR 10 per unit. According to the latest reports, the price could be around EUR 10 per unit.
