You're reading: Ukraine’s parliament to consider allocation of funds to fight against flu outbreak

The Verkhovna Rada at its sitting on Thursday, Dec. 3, will consider a draft law on the allocation of Hr 1 billion to fight against the epidemic of flu in Ukraine.

Participants of the conciliatory council consisting of leaders of factions and committees of the parliament agreed on this on Nov. 30.

Speaker of the parliament Volodymyr Lytvyn has said that a new version of a draft law on amendments to the state budget for 2009 on the allocation of Hr 1 billion to fight the epidemic of flu will be considered by parliament. Earlier, the parliament charged the budget committee with completing this draft law.

Moreover, Lytvyn said that an alternative draft law on this issue was registered in the parliament. Its author is MP from the Regions Party Mykola Azarov.

According to the speaker, this draft law will be introduced for the parliament’s consideration.

"But let’s agree that we won’t reject all of these laws," he said to participants of the meeting.

MP Kyryl Kulykov, a member of the budget committee and the OU-PSD faction, promised that the budget committee will do everything possible in order to consider these draft laws as soon as possible and to prepare them for the consideration in the session hall.

We remind that the Kyiv city sanitary and epidemiological station has said that the flu is over in Kyiv.
