Langkawi, Malaysia, December 3 (Interfax-AVN) - Two Antonov An-148 aircrafts will be supplied to Myanmar next year, United Aircraft Corporation (UAC) Regional Director Gennady Prishchepa told Interfax-AVN at the LIMA 2009 show on Dec. 3.

"We and Myanmar have signed a contract on the delivery of two An-148 aircrafts with comfortable cabins. The Voronezh aviation plant is making the aircrafts. They will be supplied to Myanmar in the beginning of next year," he said.

The Russian-Ukrainian An-148 sells well in Southeast Asia and island states in the Indian and Pacific oceans, he said.

The plane does not need long runways and goes for a reasonable price and maintenance costs, he said.

In all, the Voronezh plant will make three An-148s in 2009 and nine in 2010. The first plane has been supplied to Rossiya airline.
