You're reading: Lawmakers pass anti-flu bill worth Hr 200 million at first reading

Ukraine's Verkhovna Rada passed at first reading a bill on the allocation of Hr 200 million for the struggle against the influenza epidemic in Ukraine.

The draft law amending the 2009 national budget law, drafted by Regions Party faction’s MP Mykola Azarov, was backed up by 416 MPs out of the 436 registered in the session hall on Dec. 3.

The bill suggests earmarking Hr 100 million to the Health Ministry for measures to flight the A/N1N1 influenza virus and acute viral respiratory infections. It also envisages subsidies of Hr 100 million for local budgets for funding the same measures.
