You're reading: Government orders plan for Lviv airport reconstruction by February 2010

The government has ordered the Transport and Communications Ministry, the Economy Ministry, the Regional Development and Building Ministry and Lviv regional state administration by February 1, 2010 to develop and submit to the cabinet a plan for the reconstruction of the passenger terminal at Lviv airport.

According to cabinet resolution No. 1500 of December 8, the authorities mentioned should develop and submit to the cabinet the design of a temporary passenger terminal at Lviv airport by February 15, 2010.

The Transport and Communications Ministry, the Economy Ministry and Lviv regional state administration should by March 15, 2010 develop and approve tender documents to select a general contractor for the existing terminal’s reconstruction.

As reported, in early November U.S. company IMTC MEI LLC won a tender for the construction of a new passenger terminal for Lviv international airport.

The U.S. company proposed to pay UAH 4.9 million for the right to build the terminal.

According to investment obligations approved by the government, the investor is to invest over UAH 1 billion in the construction of the terminal. The terminal should be built in the terms foreseen by UEFA, by September 2011.
