A total of 466 cases of the pandemic A/H1N1 flu have been laboratory confirmed in Ukraine, including 202 deaths from swine flu, the Ukrainian Health Ministry's press service reported on Dec. 15.

Test samples in 2,494 people, including in 395 who died, were taken using methods recommended by the World Health Organization, the press service said.

The tests of samples taken from 962 people, including 304 who died, have been completed.

These are data as of 2000 on December 14, the press service said.

As reported, 501 people have died of flu and flu-like illnesses in Ukraine as of late on December 14. Four of them, including a child, died of flu and its complications (pneumonia) in the past 24 hours.

The epidemic threshold has already been exceeded in Vinnytsia, Volyn, Dnipropetrovsk, Donetsk, Zaporizhia, Kirovohrad, Luhansk, Mykolaiv, Poltava, Sumy and Cherkasy regions, as well as in Crimea and the city of Sevastopol.
