You're reading: Health Ministry: Flu, pneumonia kill 507 people in Ukraine

A total of 507 people have died of flu and flu-like illnesses in Ukraine as of late on Dec. 15, the Ukrainian Health Ministry has reported.

Six people have died of flu and its complications (pneumonia) in the past 24 hours, the ministry said.

Since the outbreak of the epidemic, over 2.69 million people have contracted flu and respiratory infections, including 83,137 people over the past 24 hours.

A total of 156,272 people have been hospitalized since the start of the epidemic (October 29). Of those hospitalized, 123,769 people have been discharged from hospital.

The epidemic threshold has already been exceeded in Vinnytsia, Volyn, Dnipropetrovsk, Donetsk, Zaporizhia, Kirovohrad, Luhansk, Mykolaiv, Poltava, Sumy and Cherkasy regions, as well as in Crimea and in the city of Sevastopol.
