The price Ukraine pays for Russian gas in the first quarter of 2010 may amount to $300-$310 per 1,000 cubic meters, the director of Gazprom Sbyt Ukraine, Anatoly Podmyshalsky, told journalists in Kyiv on Dec. 17.

In addition, he said that Ukrainian national oil and gas company Naftogaz Ukrainy would import just over 26 billion cubic meters of gas in 2009.

The transit rate Ukraine charges will rise to $2.8-$3 per 1,000 cubic meters per 100 kilometers in 2010, Podmyshalsky said.

Gazprom has already made a $250-million advance payment for gas transit, he said. The money is sufficient to cover all transit charges through the first quarter of 2010, he said.
