State sector wage arrears fall slightly

In August, state sector wage arrears fell by Hr 123.9 million, or 27.4 percent, amounting to Hr 328.6 million.
On January 10, salary debts from the budget totaled Hr 540.6 million, a twofold decline over last year.
Prime Minister Viktor Yushchenko has promised to pay all pension debts and no less than half of the budget's debt for salaries.
At the start of July, deputy Finance Minister Volodymyr Matveychuk told journalists that the cabinet intends to fulfill its promise to pay salary debts to budget workers.
