Ukraine ready to sign contracts on delivery of 9 aircraft to Laos, Egypt and UAE, says economy minister

Ukraine is ready to sign contracts on delivery of three An-140 aircraft worth over $50 million to Laos, four An-47 aircraft worth over $100 million to Egypt, and two An-148 aircraft worth over $50 million to the United Arab Emirates with the further purchase of 15 aircraft worth about $400 million, Economy Minister Bohdan Danylyshyn has said.

According to information posted on the Web site of the ministry on Thursday, there are over 150 orders and options for An-148 aircraft.

"A preliminary agreement has been recently reached with Iran on the sale and joint production of more than 70 aircraft of this class," the minister said.

He noted that the contract on modernization and repair of An-32 aircraft of the Air Forces of India worth over $400 million has been signed, while a contract on production of An-32 aircraft worth $89 million was concluded with Iraq.
