Ukrainian President Viktor Yuschenko has instructed the cabinet to foresee the financing of some measures to settle pressing problems of young people.

According to a president’s decree on measures to settle urgent problems of young people, the cabinet is to ensure the payment of grants to students in higher educational institutions, foresee a rise in expenses on the realization of state youth policy, support youth and child nongovernmental organizations and the realization of a state program for the provision of housing for young people during 2002-2012 in the national budget for 2010.

In addition, the cabinet is to foresee funds for paying subsidies for the first jobs of young people in draft national budget for 2010 and next years.

The government should work on the expanding the list of professions for which subsidies to employers are foreseen; improve the planning of expenditure regarding privileges for students in paying for transport; carry out a study of the education service market by late 2010, in particular, in training specialists in line with labor market’s needs, and make up of a state order for training of specialists.

The president also instructed the cabinet to take measures on the creation of the All-Ukrainian Center for Patriotic Education of Youth and the House of Youth of Ukraine, and draw up and approve a state program on dormitories in 2010.
