King of Spain Juan Carlos has accepted Ukrainian President Victor Yushchenko's invitation to visit Ukraine.
During his visit to Spain, Ukrainian Foreign Ministry Petro Poroshenko met onJan. 11 King Juan Carlos and handed him an invitation from the Ukrainian president to visit Ukraine. Juan Carlos accepted the invitation, the Foreign Ministry’s press service reported.
The Ukrainian foreign minister told the King of Spain that Ukraine is looking forward to intensifying high-level political dialog with Spain and deepening the bilateral trade, economic and cultural cooperation with the country.
Poroshenko told the king that Ukraine views the completion of talks on the Association Agreement with the EU as a priority of its cooperation with Spain, while the latter will be holding the rotating EU presidency in the first half of 2010.
Juan Carlos assured the Ukrainian minister that Spain supports Ukraine in its aspirations to join the European Union.
